Somewhere (I don't remember the exact place) I've seen the biggest group of swans in my life. There were hundreds or even thousands of them and they were unbelievably noisy! They feared the cars though and they started to swim away as we stopped to take pictures.
In Stöðvarfjörður you will find an extraordinary museum of rocks. Why it is so special? It's a collection of one woman's lifetime with every single rock found and brought by her. The stones are diverse: from big, shiny amethysts through chalcedony or agates to mysterious black obsidian. The octogenarian lady was there and said cheerful hello to us. A paradise for geology enthusiasts and an eye candy for mortals. The collection is placed in a nice and tidy garden so, weather permitting, you can spend a lazy afternoon there.
As we were accompanied by rain the whole day, we drove towards Höfn full of hope, seeing clear sky above the town. Indeed, the rain got lighter and we pitched up a tent at Höfn campsite.
